Queretaro Mexico, March 23 - 26
On Thursday March 23, I got up very early and drove to St. Louis to catch a flight to Mexico City. I met Chuck Fluharty there and we were driven about 3 hours North to a beautiful Hacienda in Queretaro. On Friday we met with people from the InterAmerican Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture about plans to develop stronger educational and research ties between North, South and Central America. On Saturday we attended the conference.
The Hacienda was formerly a large ranch which had been renovated and converted into a resort. I have included some photos below.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to hunt any geocaches while I was there.
We returned to Mexico City by van on Saturday evening and caught a plane back to Missouri the next morning.

Frankfurt Germany, March 14 - 19
On March 14 I left for meetings of my EU project team in Frankfurt Germany. I arrived at the Frankfurt airport about 7:00 am on the 15th and took a train and then a bus to the village of Bergen-Enkheim a few miles North of Frankfurt. Our meetings were on Thursday and Friday (16th and 17th). On the 18th I spent some time exploring the area. There were a number of geocaches in the area but because most of the clues were entirely in German I only hunted two geocaches that were within walking distance and was able to find one. Some photos from the area are included below.

The meetings were very successful and I returned home on Sunday, March 19.

Durham New Hampshire, February 25 - March 1
On Saturday, February 25 I flew to Manchester New Hampshire where John Halstead and his family picked me up and drove me to the University of New Hampshire campus in Durham. I was there for a review of the Resource Economics and Development Department which started Sunday evening. Because of connections I had to arrive Saturday night. While in Durham I stayed at the University's beautiful on-campus lodge. The first photo below was taken from the dining room while the second is from my guest room window.

It snowed most of the day Saturday and by Sunday morning there was 8 to 12 inches of new snow. Since I had some time on Sunday, I went geocaching in the morning and then worked in the afternoon. The photos below were taken in the woods where I found several caches.

On Monday and Tuesday the review team (three other people and I) interviewed dozens of people and reviewed material and wrote a preliminary report. On Wednesday morning we presented our report and then drove to the airport in the afternoon.
